The 251 XS with forward seating, was designed to be a “hybrid” model capable of handling and performing in both inshore and offshore waters. This model has a draft of approximately 13” for backwater fishing; while the proud bow, hull design, depth and freeboard allow it to slice through offshore waves while keeping you dry.


Standard features include a large anchor locker, port and starboard lockable rod storage boxes, high performance leaning post with rod holders, transom ladder and trim tabs. Optional features include rear deck jump seat cushions, port aerated bait well and a porta potti just to name a few.


Beyond the stunning lines, ample fishing features and creature comforts Scout is known for, the 251 XS also showcases Scout’s revolutionary T-top/glass enclosure, which was awarded a U.S. Design Patent.

Joe has been around boating since he was 12 years old when he spent summers on his grandfather’s boat in Rhode Island. He is a true hands-on boater, performing all repairs and replacements on his five boats. Twenty-two years ago, he bought a 30’ Sonic which he completely rebuilt and won the Around Long Island offshore marathon race in 2010. Since then, Joe and his wife, Jen, have added a 45’ Wellcraft Excalibur, 41’ Apache, 12’ Mini Hawk and finally slowing down a bit, a liveaboard 52’ Jefferson. Most of Joe’s time on the water was spent navigating the waters of Long Island, Block Island, Newport with some jaunts to Key West and sailing in the BVI. After a 37-year career in the HVAC, plumbing, apartment rental and remodeling industries, where he ran his own business, they have moved to SW Florida with no intention of retiring. Joe has decided his “second act” will be to follow his passion, the boating industry. With his knowledge of sales that he learned while running his own businesses and the experiences from years of boating, Joe will be an immense help for you to find the perfect boat or yacht that fit your needs.
