Accomodations

It is nearly impossible to find any other 40'ish Downeast-style boat that offers such roomy accommodations as the Back Cove 41'. Her galley-up layout makes room for 2 staterooms and 2 heads- a very uncommon find in a yacht of this size. Entering the cabin from the teak-decked cockpit, there is a large convertible "U-Shaped" dinette to starboard. This dinette not only converts into a double berth, it also converts into the more traditional fore-and-aft facing "true" dinette. Forward to starboard is the raised helm station with twin Stidd chairs. Beside the helm station is a door which leads out to the starboard side deck for easy communication and access to the bow. The helm station sole lifts up for access to a rather large "basement" below with more storage than necessary. To port and aft is the functional galley which runs fore and aft, ahead of which is a raised "L-shaped" settee. Such a great use of space! Below to port is the guest stateroom which features an athwartships double berth, hanging locker, drawer storage, natural overhead lighting via hatch, and ensuite "wet" head. Forward at the bow is the Master Stateroom. This space is quite large, and features a centerline queen berth with storage beneath, a large hanging locker, plenty of drawer storage, overhead hatch with screen and shade, flat screen TV with DVD player, and private entrance to the Master Head. The Master Head is tremendous in size, and features a large walk-in shower stall, vanity with sink and storage, and natural lighting. The cabinetry throughout the boat is a beautiful Cherry, while the cabins sole is a "teak and holly" high pressure laminate with texture, which is very difficult to damage. Back Cove really hit the nail on the head with this design!
