"Kerry D" is a custom built fiberglass power cat affectionately known as "The Beast". Built in the Pacific Northwest by the well regarded Platypus Marine Boatyard, she features a length of 60 feet and a beam of just over 27 feet. Her design (done by renowned multihull naval architect, Stuart Bloomfield) affords the flexibility to run long range (ex. North Carolina to Bermuda) without refueling (1 nautical mile per gallon at 10 knots!) but still having the ability to cruise at 17 knots and top out at 20 knots when time is essential. Her low hour Cummins QSC8.3 engines provide reliability, performance and efficiency. With three generous staterooms (all with private heads) including an on deck master, upper and lower salons, well equipped pilothouse and massive amounts of deck area including a day head, "Kerry D" is a special craft that is dialed in and ready for adventure!

Additional Comments
This one owner boat was the concept and end product of a knowledgeable yachting couple looking for a power cat but not satisfied with what the production cat builders were offering. They instead decided to build to a higher level of seaworthiness and function utilizing the well respected Platypus Boatyard in the Pacific Northwest. Located right next to Westport Yachts, Platypus builds some of the best commercial craft known to traverse and work in the waters off of Alaska and the Pacific NW. Utilizing the Australian naval architect, Stuart Bloomfield, the owner of "Kerry D" spent a week to two of every month while the boat was in build at the boatyard and was very hands on in overseeing her construction. This attention to detail and her lineage of no nonsense seaworthiness is evident in this bluewater power cat. The owners have enjoyed her on cruising grounds from the Bahamas to Maine and a trip to Bermuda in between and are ready to move on to their next adventures leaving this turnkey boat ready for its next cruising owners!
